Training / Law Enforcement Services / TEMS Bridging Course
This course bridges in the gap between traditional pre-hospital care, and the unique and complicated environment of Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS). When traditional casualty approaches are used in a tactical environment it endangers the casualty, the care provider, the other team members and the mission. Appropriate casualty approach in a tactical environment differs greatly from that of a traditional EMS environment and this course is meant to train paramedics in these appropriate management techniques as well as in many other unique problems faced by TEMS paramedics. While many courses offered in 'tactical medicine' focus on tactics and weapon handling, our Tactical Paramedic Bridging Course takes a unique and focused approach to casualty management with respect to the greater tactical situation. This course is beneficial to both the armed and unarmed tactical care provider. The program is open to all EMT-A/EMT-I/PCP or equivalent and higher qualifications. Priority is given to currently serving TEMS Team members. Skills taught on the course may be outside the student's scope of practice. This course does not constitute a qualification or increase in scope of practice. Please consult your Medical Director prior to employing any intervention taught in our program. By working in cooperation with agency Medical Directors, we can develop a program that incorporates your protocols and scope of practice for the most efficient use of training time. Please Note: This is not a traditional 'Trauma Life Support' course and does not teach routine EMS, protocol driven, pre-hospital medicine. Course content is unique. Please contact us or visit our Request for Training Quote page to find out cost and availability to host a course. |
